Taylor Roach

Taylor is a bioengineering student focused on developing solutions that advance human 
health and improve patient outcomes. She is pursuing her B.S. in Bioengineering with a 
Minor in Industrial Engineering at the University of Pittsburgh, where her academic work 
spans biomedical research, fluid mechanics, and drug delivery systems. A notable project 
includes the analysis of piezoelectric micropumps for controlled drug delivery, for which 
she co-authored a ten-page scientific paper. This work reflects her growing interest in the 
intersection of engineering principles and clinical application.
Beyond the classroom, Taylor is dedicated to broadening access and representation in 
engineering, serving as a Senator for the National Society of Black Engineers, and 
mentoring both high school students and incoming engineering undergraduates. As a 
proud member of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc., she also continues her commitment to 
scholarship and service.
Outside of her academic pursuits, Taylor enjoys exploring new restaurants, spending time 
with friends and family, and watching movies.
